This wall, which has a total length of around 2.5 km and was initially built as a wooden wall in the early 1950s, divided the town of Rechlin into the "Russian sector" and the southern German part for more than 40 years, in which, however, infrastructure facilities were almost completely lacking.

We were deeply impressed by the history of Rechlin. A wall through the city - like in Berlin ... but with a different cause .. In this context, the Rechlin Aviation Museum is recommended, many of the connections that began around 1920 are explained there.
