Vandring

Beautiful preserved castle ruins and the landmark of Hilpoltstein. Over a long tunnel you reach the castle courtyard. Also worthwhile is the ascent to the castle tower, because from the top you have a magnificent view of Hilpoltstein and the surrounding landscape.

Opening hours:
From April to October at weekends and public holidays from 10.30am to 5pm

Ticket prices:
Adults 1,50 Euro
Children over 12 years 1 Euro

Landevejscykling

The protective castle was one of the most important imperial castles in Middle Franconia. Their existence has been documented since the early 11th century. The castle flourished during the times of the Lords of Stein in the 13th and 14th centuries. The last resident was Countess Palatine Dorothea Maria in the 17th century.
