In 2004, an extensive renovation of the entire palace complex began under the direction of the Thuringian State Office for Monument Protection and Archaeology. In 2013, the Old Palace was converted into a museum and in 2014 the New Palace was handed over to the tenants.

Anyone passing through Heringen should definitely drop anchor at Schloss Anker; it has its charm in every season. I also recommend the Nostalgia Museum of Everyday Life.
