The fountain is from 1851 and is topped with a representation of the city as a classical goddess. The square is surrounded by little cafes and benches to relax.

Coming from the train station, following the romantic promenade, you end up on this square. Voila a fountain, a bull, a memorial to the fallen victims in the senseless wars and of course bistros to refuel.

Vandring
The Pradier Fountain is a monumental fountain made of white marble. The standing woman represents the city of Nîmes, while the four people lying at her feet represent the four major rivers in the Nîmes region. The names of the individual rivers are engraved on the base in Latin.
