Vandring
The Sakurayama Shrine is a well-preserved shrine that requires visitors to purify the body and mind. The shrine is more than a hundred years old and very popular with locals. The highlight of the shrine, however, lies in its backyard. If you follow a small path to the right of the shrine, you will pass through a garden of stone lanterns before coming to a massive rock with sacred rope. This rock holds the spirit of a god and is a symbol of protection for the inhabitants of Morioka.
