When exploring Tangermünde, you should definitely make your way to the castle hill, where the castle hotel is located. The elevated location has its own special charm and offers great vantage points. Apart from the tower, the upper lookout is the best opportunity to enjoy a beautiful view of the Elbe and, in the background, of the city's attractions. There's a fee to enter the tower.
Walking through the old castle gate, you'll enter a different world. You'll find a surprisingly beautiful little park with several places to sit, including some in the shade.
