Stones on the path as well as the stairs leading down to the boathouse are very slick when wet. Nice spot to overlook Lake Mendota. Quiet, wooded, fairly secluded, great views.

Vandring

The Boathouse was constructed in 1936, about a decade after the village was incorporated. It was built as a key component of the community's central recreational area, which also includes the pool and McKenna Park. Its construction solidified the village's identity as a community deeply connected to Lake Mendota.
The original purpose was exactly what its name implies: to provide residents with a facility for boating and direct access to the lake for swimming and recreation. It was designed as a social and functional hub right on the water's edge.
