Vandring
"Stegen" is a work of art on Slottsholmen in Västervik, near the ruins of Stegeholm Castle. Created by the artist couple SIMKA (Simon Häggblom and Karin Lind), the work consists of several elements: a circular base, a wall of glass blocks, an aluminum boat on legs, and sound cones. The work symbolizes the history of the town, including its relocation from Gamleby to present-day Västervik and the shipyard operations on Slottsholmen.

The artwork is intended to commemorate the Slottsholmen boatyard and the history of the castle, which later became a ruin. The glass wall surrounding the artwork can be interpreted as a reference to the old Stegeholm Castle. The steps are located at a site that has been historically significant for the town's development, including their early location at the entrance to Gamlebyviken and their later relocation to their current location.
