In the 17th century, Zeil was the scene of great persecution and burnings of witches as the execution site of the Bamberg monastery. Over 400 so-called "witches" were burned at that time. Documentation in the original location of the city tower and in the attached Fronhaus provides information about this and sensitizes visitors to this complex topic.

Zeiler witches tower. The museum vividly depicts the history of witch hunts. Structural remains of a witch hunt dungeon. A permanent exhibition on the subject of witch hunts, which provides information and documents on the history of early modern witch hunts and impulses to visitors through their spatial staging as well as the use of audiovisual means. The dark chapter "witch hunt" is made comprehensible for today's humans, and prejudices are eliminated.
