The Kreuzstein is a mighty granite stone and marks the border between Bavaria and Bohemia. A carved cross is clearly visible on the south side, while the inscriptions "Bohemia" on the east side and "Bavaria" on the west side can only be seen in good light. A furrow on the plate indicates the boundary line. Otherwise, the stone still bears a number and the year of the last boundary setting 1843. The cross stone has probably been marking the boundary for around 1,000 years.
