Espalion is a slightly larger town in the Lot Valley. If you are traveling on the GR-65, you could also take a rest day here, for example to visit the Calmont d'Olt castle ruins. This castle dominates the silhouette of Espalion.
In Espalion there are still old tanner houses and a Gothic bridge from the 13th and 14th centuries, the Vieux Point.
It is an unforgettable experience when you approach this city after a long day's hike on the GR-65 and can enjoy this original cityscape.
