The town of Eberbach, the State Forestry Office and the Neckartal-Odenwald Nature Park invite you to discover the variety of trees and shrubs from all over the world.
The term "arboretum" is derived from the Latin word "arbor". That means in German: "the tree". An arboretum is a "tree garden" or "tree park". According to the official definition, an arboretum is a "collective planting of diverse trees and shrubs" for study purposes.

Trees from all over the world can be seen here. The Latin term arboretum means, freely translated, "a collection of different types of trees". The term comes from the Latin word "arbor", which means tree.

As can be seen in the history of the arboretum, the area previously served as an urban orchard and then partly as a rubbish dump.

The plantings are arranged according to geographical areas. Today the arboretum houses around 150 different species with a total of over 300 specimens.
