Almost bodyless, the heart hidden behind a book, one hand already in heaven. It's not facing the human being—it's twisted. Is that supposed to be John the Baptist? I think of it as a caricature of a Bergisch revivalist preacher, of which there were many. It seems intimidating in front of the church entrance. Do they have too many visitors?
