    At the northwest end of Schillerplatz, in the immediate vicinity of Osteiner Hof, is the Bassenheimer Hof. It was built in 1750.
    The Bassenheimer Hof was sold to the military authorities of the Federal Fortress of Mainz in 1835 and used as a barracks until 1889. After that, various civilian owners are known; the farm served, among other things, as a Viennese café.
    Today, the Bassenheimer Hof houses the Ministry of the Interior of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
