Vandring

The astronaut figure in the Salamanca Cathedral is a modern addition. Although the cathedral was built between the 16th and 18th centuries, the astronaut was carved in 1992 during a restoration for the exhibition "The Ages of Man." Stonemason Miguel Romero included this figure as a symbol of the space age, leaving his mark on the restoration.
In addition to the astronaut, there is also a dragon eating an ice cream near the figure, which adds a contemporary and fun touch to the historic façade.
