Vandring

The bridge is very old, one of 5 bridges on the Alzey - Mainz route. On January 8, 1945, during the Second World War, the city narrowly escaped destruction. 36 Boeing B-17 bombers were supposed to attack the railway bridge in Alzey, but dropped their bombs on the Wartberg in bad weather due to a calculation error.
