Instead of a ford on the trade routes leading south through the Kösseinebach, two bridges were built over the actual river and the Mühlbach. When the river was regulated in the 1930s, a new bridge was built, which was renovated in 1988. The stele next to the bridge is intended to remind us that the Kösseine formed the border between the Eger and Margrave territories for centuries. There was also once a customs house here, where anyone who wanted to cross the bridge had to pay a fee.
