Vandring
Weiden sculptor Günter Mauermann created the fountain named after him from granite and bronze in 1985 and 1986. The fountain is designed as a picture arch with a veil of water, providing colorful insights into the town's history and Upper Palatinate customs. Its shape is intended to evoke the two gates between which the fountain is located.

Through the lower gate and the front gate - created after the shelling in 1635 in its current form - you reach the Schlörplatz. The passage for pedestrians was created in 1955 after the gate was damaged by American tanks. Here is the so-called nail cross, which was created by donations in 1915 and is said to remind. The Hotel am Tor is next door.
