Vandring
The Düpenau crosses the artificially created rain retention basin on the site of the former "Friedrichshulde" estate. The manor house was destroyed by fire in the 1960s, and some of the estate's outbuildings are still there today.
Nature fans can expect plenty of greenery on the approximately 8 hectare site in the Düpenau lowlands and in the forest areas. Very old deciduous trees from the early days of the complex are impressive in the "Gutswald" or "Schulwald", which were planted in the 1950s.
You can experience a natural, rural atmosphere as you walk around the water.

Friedrichshulder See is actually a rainwater retention basin for the Düpenau. Over the years, the lake has become quite muddy (half of which may be duck feed) and had to be dredged. For this purpose, the sludge was dredged on one side in 2019 and stored in the other half for drying. At the end of 2020, the dried sludge should be finally disposed of and the lake will be flooded again.
