Very beautiful and historic old town in Marbach am Neckar. The old half-timbered buildings are very well maintained. The house where Friedrich Schiller was born is beautifully decorated. Built on a slope, you can see it immediately, whether coming from above or below. There is a small museum inside the house.

Due to the devastating town fire of 1693, Marbach is one of the few towns in the state with a virtually complete ensemble of 18th-century buildings. Since 1983, the entire complex has been a listed building.

The weekly market on Marktstraße invites you to stroll and shop on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. More information here.

Half-timbered houses, alleyways, towers, and fountains characterize the historic old town. It is one of the oldest rural towns in Württemberg, boasting a city wall and medieval fortifications.
