Beautiful old building complex, but the underpass by the Thames is much better, with pictures on the wall tiles. So beautiful!

Vandring

South of London Bridge, there was already a "suburb" of London in ancient times. Excavations have uncovered buildings with richly decorated mosaics and wall paintings. A temple district was also discovered in which "London" was mentioned for the first time on an inscription.

Traditionally, the areas on the south bank of the Thames were areas in which "disreputable" businesses and markets were established. The Southwark area was already populated in early times, as archaeological finds show.
