Herbert Meusburger had already offered his sculpture "The Knot" on temporary loan to the cultural services of the state capital of Bregenz in 2022. With this work, the artist refers to current political and social developments and upheavals, with "The Knot" being understood as a symbol of humanity's self-destructive nature. The 3.5-meter-high and approximately 900-kilogram bronze sculpture by Bregenzerwald sculptor Herbert Meusburger was initially exhibited at Leutbühel in the summer of 2022. Following the artist's death in January 2023, the city of Bregenz decided to acquire the object.
