This former school became a museum recently. The building itself was built from scratch in 1888 by teacher Viktor Jansson from Vårdö, who then taught and lived here until his death in 1895.

It was an exciting visit: In 1888, teacher Viktor Jansson from Vårdö built the building that now houses the Åland School Museum. Jansson taught and lived here until his death in 1895. The school inventory was collected from various schools throughout Åland, some of it from the original school. The teacher's apartment is partially furnished with furniture from Viktor Jansson and his family. The Ethology Section of the Åland Government Museum Office is responsible for the school museum. A friendly elderly man answers questions and gives tours of the museum.
