On September 16, 2020, a monument to Dr. Aleksander Majkowski, the most outstanding Kashubian writer, poet, publicist and activist born in Kościerzyna, was ceremonially unveiled at ul. Długa in Kościerzyna.

The creator of the monument is Tomasz Radziewicz, the author of the sculpture of Remus, which was placed in Kościerzyna Market Square. This artist also previously created the Stolem sculptures, which recently appeared in various places in Kościerzyna. This is the first full-figure sculpture of Aleksander Majkowski in Pomerania. There are his busts and commemorative plaques in other cities.
