With an elevation of 2,704 feet Camelback Mountain is a quick hike with great views over Phoenix Valley. The mountain gets its name from it two prominent rock formations made of granite and sedimentary rock that resemble the head and back of a camel. It is a rougly 2.4 mile out-and-back trail into the Camelback Mountain Echo Canyon Recreation Area. Since it is located in the Phoenix area and easy to reach, the trail could be crowded. So better start early in the morning.
