The fortress is located on a hill at the mouth of the Fuengirola River and offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. The castle's origins date back to the 10th century, when it was built by the Moors to defend the coast against invaders. Over the centuries it has been expanded and rebuilt several times, especially after the Christian conquest in the 15th century. Today, the castle's restored walls and towers are an impressive example of the architecture of yesteryear. The area surrounding the castle with its well-kept park is also a highlight!
