Vandring

Alzey's town hall was built in 1586 and is therefore considered the oldest building in the town. It is a three-story Renaissance building from the Electorate of the Palatinate school of architecture.
With its stair tower, it is certainly comparable to other large German town halls such as in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. In Rheinhessen, the building style with a stair tower was only common for noble courts at that time.
The striking, polygonal stair tower houses a carillon with a figure of Volker von Alzey.
