Vandring
The tower is located in a strategic position, between the sea and the mainland. The surrounding area was flat and there was no natural refuge where the population of Forio could hide, so between 1534 and 1536, during the raids of the corsair Dragut, the defense tower was built. It was built as a place of refuge and defense from pirate attacks and is today a private home. The circular base, in fact, is grafted onto a compact rocky mass whose access, through a narrow entrance, is achieved with steps embedded in the thickness of the masonry
