The Quinta da Regaleira is full of symbolism in its gardens and buildings. One of the most enigmatic places is the Labyrinth Grotto, next to the lake. It is believed that there are underground paths leading to different directions, which further increases the mystery of the place.

Access to the cave is from a small grassy path next to the lake. From the inside, you will have the opportunity to observe the beautiful rock arches above the water. Two paths will take you back outside: a staircase and a ramp. Be careful, no artificial lighting in the cave! Remember to provide good lighting with a flashlight or the one from your phone. In addition, water runs down the walls, you can get wet.

The Gruta do Labirinto at Quinta da Regaleira is a labyrinthine tunnel system that leads you through narrow passages and low doorways across the mountain. Daylight occasionally flickers through openings before you continue in semi-darkness – a true adventure experience. A headlamp or phone light is useful to clearly see the steps and uneven ground.
