This building was built in the mid-1930s to supply the winegrowers with copper-lime solution to ward off downy mildew. Thanks to the bench in front of it, it can also be used as a rest area.

It may be that it was colloquially known as the 'Spritzbrühhäuschen' (liquid spray house)—and was later used as such. However, according to a 98-year-old acquaintance, it was originally an anti-aircraft tower/bunker.

Dear Dietmar J. (DJ),
The friend who told you the story about the flak tower is mistaken!
This building was actually built to supply winegrowers with spray liquid for their vineyards.
Similar buildings exist or existed in Armsheim and Rommersheim, among other places.
All are located on the outskirts of the village on the main road to the vineyards.
Perhaps an anti-aircraft gunner barricaded himself there during World War II.
Due to its lightweight construction, that was certainly not a good idea.
In any case, it can't be called a bunker.
