Interesting catholic town church with late Romanesque entrance portal, beautiful belfry and a magnificent interior, such as the ceiling painting and the historic grave slabs.
The church dates from the 13th century.

The patronage "Assumption of Mary" of this church refers to one of the many commemorative days or feast days in honor of the Mother of God Mary. It goes back to the feast of their physical acceptance into heaven, which the Church celebrates annually on August 15th. In many rural areas it is common for the people to collect herbal bundles (called "Kruggweusch" in the Rhenish dialect) on this day and bless them in the festival service.
