The Santana houses integrated into the Monte Palace Tropical Garden in Funchal are lovingly restored examples of traditional Madeiran architecture, featuring thatched gabled roofs and colorful facades. Originally typical of the village of Santana on the north coast, these houses have been incorporated into the garden and now house cozy bars and viewpoints. Surrounded by subtropical vegetation and overlooking Funchal Bay, they are a charming photo opportunity and a special cultural highlight within the garden landscape.

In the park, there are two replica thatched-roof houses, which are usually found in Santana, north of the island. One houses a poncha bar, but other drinks are also available.
