The imposing Reichshof is located on the corner of Reichsstrasse and Grimmaische Strasse. The former trade fair palace with its almost 100-year history is now a listed building.
It was achieved between 1896 and 1898 by the Leipzig entrepreneur Richard Pudor according to the plans of the Berlin architect Albert Bohm (1853 - 1933) (Neo-Baroque). The new building was to serve as an exhibition center for the sample fair that was established over the years.
The name Reichshof apparently arose in reference to the Reichsstrasse, which was part of the course of the Via Imperii (Imperial Road).
