The town hall in Asch (Czech: Aš) was built after the city fire of 1814. The first known Ascher town hall fell victim to a fire in 1696, and the magistrate lived in a makeshift building for a while. In 1733, a new town hall was built according to plans by the Eger builder Pfefferle and - after the fire of 1814 - rebuilt in a very similar way. In 1885 it was enlarged by adding a second floor. The shape of the roof and the tower were also changed.

This beautiful building, which today stands as one of the city's jewels, has a colorful history.
The town hall was built in 1733 as the administrative center of the Zedtwitz estate. Unfortunately it fell victim to a devastating fire in 1814. But in the spirit of renewal it was rebuilt in 1815-1816 according to the original plans of Angelus Pleffer. This restoration brought its baroque beauty to life.
