The last beach in Portugal - Praia de Monte Gordo marks the end of the Algarve coastline and the meeting point with Spain. It is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches on the Algarve coast, and offers wonderful sunsets. The sand is compact, and it is even possible to cycle along the coast.

The beauty of its beach and its safe, uninhabited waters attracted the first foreign tourists in the 1960s, giving it a pioneering role in the development of Algarve tourism. Today, Monte Gordo is an international tourist center, with a casino among its many amenities.
