Turku hopes to cheer up city residents and honor those working in nursing and other critical fields by lighting the library bridge over the Aura River in a different way each night.

Vandring

The Library Bridge (Finnish: Kirjastosilta, Swedish: Biblioteksbron) is a pedestrian and bicycle bridge in Turku, designed by Pontek Oy. Located in the city centre, the bridge crosses the Aura River and connects the Kauppiaskatu and Rettiginrinne streets. The bridge was opened to traffic in 2013 and received its name as a result of a public naming competition. Turku's main library is located near the bridge.
