Vandring
The boiler house (1914), the Goetheanum's heating system, was removed from the main building and housed in an annex on the north slope. Between the smaller and offset domes, the chimney stretches vertically upwards in a formal language representing smoke and fire. The design artistically expresses the essence of the combustion process. The rectangle becomes the basic form of the building, with the rounded tendency receding.

Vandring
The so-called boiler house was built in 1914 on the grounds of the Goetheanum in Dornach, based on a design by Rudolf Steiner, to supply heat to the First Goetheanum and its adjoining buildings.
The boiler house is still in operation for this purpose today. However, it was modernized in 1990-91, and the original coal heating system was replaced by a gas-fired combined heat and power plant.
In addition to the Goetheanum, it supplies heat to 15 other buildings.
