There is a very special atmosphere in Scherrerpark in Morcote on Lake Lugano. Nestled in lush subtropical vegetation reminiscent of exotic countries, we find architecture and works of art inspired by distant cultures, such as a Siamese tea house, an Egyptian temple and Greek sculptures. We owe this fascinating garden to Hermann Arthur Scherrer, who from the 1930s wanted to realize his dream of creating a magical place to remember his travels. Between palm trees, eucalyptus and lemons, cedars and oleanders, visitors can admire all kinds of blooming and fragrant plants.
