The Renaissance building is located in the Terziere dei Castelli and was donated to the bishopric of the Diocese of Tuscania in 1652 by the Tuscan nobleman Alfonso Donnini. Divided into three floors, the building features nenfro decorations common to many Tuscan palaces and coffered ceilings painted with floral motifs, giving the interiors an architectural illusion. From the loggia of the main facade in Piazza Belvedere there is a surprising view of the Basilica of San Pietro, which is only minimally obscured by the Cardinal's Fountain.
