Considered as a work of civil engineering, to this day, its exact chronology is still uncertain, although it has its first documentary references during medieval times; For many, its construction in Roman times is likely, in fact, it is known as the "Roman Bridge of Colloto" thanks to a treasure of coins that was found during the Civil War in the arches of the bridge and in which there were coins from the 4th and 5th centuries.
