The church was originally built as a chapel and consecrated in 1869. It is built in the neo-Romanesque style from red bricks with brick walls and slate roofs in a low-rise construction. In 1955 the church received a tower, a tiled roof and a gable decorated with glare

Neo-Romanesque church north of Hvide Sande
A typical Jutlandic church made of whitewashed red bricks with a slate roof. - located very close to the fjord on Holslannd Klit and clearly visible from the connecting road between Sondervig and Hvide Sande.
The dates visible in large letters on the front indicate the consecration in 1869 and the extension with a tower and tiled roof in 1955. The naves were donated in memory of the missing sailors on the coast of Nr.Lyngvig.
