In the north of the village Irndorf is an important nature reserve, the Irndorfer Hardt, with a total area of 103 hectares. The Irndorfer Hardt at a height of 900 meters has the shape of a hollow. It lacks the drain, which often forms a cold sea. In it, many immigrated in the Ice Age rare plants have settled, which are otherwise found only in subalpine areas (about 1000 meters higher in the mountains). The nature reserve was already designated in 1938 by the then upper office Tuttlingen and has until today a unique biodiversity.

The best time for a hike through the Irndorfer Hardt is for me from late May to June, when the meadow flowers are in full bloom. The variety and flowers are overwhelming.
