Description
The still imposing remains of the medieval Heimenburg am Schlossberg, built in 1050, are a popular destination. From the top you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Hainburg, the Donau-Auen National Park and Bratislava. The castle complex consists of the castle gate, the castle courtyard, the Pankratius chapel, the palace and the residential tower. The wedding of Ottokar of Bohemia and Margaret of Austria took place in the castle chapel in 1252.
