Many famous buildings line the square, such as the Stora Teatern theatre, and the nearby Palladium cinema. You can also hop onto one of the Paddam boat tours to explore the city and the surrounding areas from the canal.

It was sculpted by John Börjeson and unveiled in 1904.
Charles IX founded the city of Gothenburg in 1603, although this early settlement was later destroyed.
The present city of Gothenburg was founded in 1621 by his son, Gustav II Adolf.
