In the Biogenetic Reserve of Vallombrosa (Fi), in the Florentine Mountains, on the northern slopes of the Pratomagno Massif, there are the tallest plants of the whole Italian peninsula; Monumental plants that the particular microclimate of Vallombrosa has made them grow to heights never seen in Italy. These are plants of the species Pseudotsuga menziesii, or the Douglas fir.
