Vandring
The Mary Fountain is traditionally called the "Lion Fountain" by many Liège residents.
The fountain, originally built in marble (1695-1696) on the Place de la Cathédrale, was rebuilt in small granite in 1854 in Vinâve d'Ile by the architect Rémont. The monument was listed as a historical monument by royal decree in 1936.

This fountain is much more often called the fontaine aux lions and was not always in this place. It was first made of marble, erected at the end of the 17th century on what is now the place de la Cathédrale, and then placed on Vierge à l’Enfant, a statue from 1696 by Jean Del Cour. In 1854, the fountain was rebuilt in its current location by the Liège architect Julien-Étienne Rémont, who preferred fine granite to marble.
