Pine Mountain is an unassuming peak sitting at 3,768 feet on the border of Pisgah National Forest. A small clearing near the summit offers some views to the south, but the best views on this trail are from above the Bad Fork Valley Overlook on the Pine Mountain Trail.
The trail actually crosses over a tunnel located on the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can't see the tunnel from the trail, but you will likely pass through the tunnel on your way to the hike.
