Vandring

The Bot. Garden has 2 public entrances. This is the main entrance, the western one of the university on Leibnitzstrasse. To the east is the side entrance from Veloroute 10.

Vandring

The main entrance to the Botanical Gardens in Kiel is unique thanks to the wrought-iron gate designed by the artist couple Lange. The butter trees in the Africa house of the greenhouse complex are the template. (Source: botanischer-garten.uni-kiel.de/de/der-garten/gartenbereiche/freilandreviere/bereich_haupteingang)
The gate also includes fence elements, which also represent different plants. This artistic design, which was carried out a few years ago, gave the entire entrance area an unmistakable, inviting touch. Beautifully planted beds, benches and a covered pavilion invite you to linger in the entrance area.
