After the spectacular collapse of the Cologne City Archives, a new building was erected elsewhere. Here, on the corner of Luxemburger Straße and Eifelwall, the city archive and the Rhenish picture archive are now united under one roof.

Vandring

During the construction of a subway, the historical archive of the city of Cologne sank into the ground. While the subway is still not finished, the new building has been built here. After a few years at the Heumarkt, the city archive was able to move in here together with the Rhenish picture archive. Free exhibitions are regularly held in the building, currently an exhibition by the RBA: "Photographers see Cologne" with prints of glass negatives, e.g. by August Sander.
