Northeast of the city on the 'Port Moody Arm' of 'Burrard Inlet' is 'Burnaby Mountain' with the campus of 'Simon Fraser University' at the summit. The forested hillsides are protected as the 'Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area'. The area is known for the numerous hiking trails and trails for mountain bikers. From the west slope there is an excellent view of downtown Vancouver.
